I've never frameserved before and I don't know what I'm doing.

I'm using Vegas 6, DeBugMode's FrameServer and CCE 2.67. I want to frameserve a project from Vegas to CCE. I've installed the frameserver plugin in Vegas and can access it via the Vegas's RenderAs menu.

What I don't understand is how my Vegas project gets into CCE.

The frameserver dialog merely asks me to specify a new filename, then it does its thing.

I'd assumed the frameserver 'sits' between Vegas and CCE but there is no mention in the frameserver's set-up dialog related to CCE, so I'm misunderstanding something in the process.

What do I need to do? I've searched high and low but have come across nothing that explains it clearly enough (for me).

    Thanks and appreciation!

    Thanks BJ_M (again).

Be assured that if I had fully understood the DebugMode guide, I wouldn't have asked here.

If only the writers of guides understood that the slightest assumption of know-how can make it nearly impossible for struggling newbies like myself to understand.

I've since found the following that made sense to me, in case other confused newbies happen to pass this way:

    Q. What is "frameserving" and what does it do?

    A. A frameserver creates a fake .AVI file that other programs such as CCE etc can load and use. This fake .AVI file contains only a few frames and as the conversion/encoding program (CCE etc) requires it, the frameserver serves more frames to it. Hence the name frameserving.

    Different strokes for different folks

But hey BJ_M, I appreciate your help!

    Cheers.
