You shouldn't have bought a Sony.
do you have any good chooices for me.
Are there any "easy" dvd players out there which can be opened up with just a simple "button pressing"

I have the Philips DVP642 (DVP630 in europe), and that is easily unlocked by pushing 5 buttons on the remote control.
1. Open loading tray
2. Press on the remote: 7, 8, 9, ok, 0
Generally speaking, Philips is user friendly in regards to changing the region code. I think LG is okay too.
There is a section in the menu to the left called "DVD Hacks". You should check there to see if there is a solution to changing the region setting before you buy your next dvd player.
