  1. Ok. 1st dvd and having problems. I did a search and couldn't quite find this. Used all the guides best I can. So here goes.......
Converting an Xvid to dvd using CCE for the video, virtual dub and besweet for the audio and dvd-lab pro for the authoring. Numerous attempts produced errors when importing into dvdlab, but I finally got a version with no errors. When I looked at it in dvdlab I noticed that the audio track was about 30 min. longer than the video. I wasn't sure if that was a problem but I re-encoded everything to be sure. Same thing. I went ahead and made menus then compiled with no errors. I opened the file in WinDVD to check it out and the audio is all messed up. It is both in the wrong places but also channeled wrong or something. The voices are very low and it almost sounds like I'm listening to a surround track. Gspot tells me the audio is ac3 (0x2000) Dolby Laboratories, Inc, 448 kb/s (5 ch) CBR 48000 Hz. The video is
    576x304 (1.89:1) [=36:19]
    Bitrate:1073 kb/s FPS: 23.976 (PAL???) Q: 0.255 bits/pixel.
Where am I going wrong? Just to check I tried again using Nero Recode and got the same results.
Oh yeah, I'm converting to NTSC 16:9 though I'm not sure the video portions are relevent as they seem ok. Also, the original video plays fine on the computer.
I repeat that this is my 1st dvd, so please be gentle with me.
    Thank you.
