I just started using ffmpegX very recently. I encounter a problem when I try to convert Quicktime MOV files (mostly trailers and such) to AVI XviD, there is no sound when I try to play the MOV file in ffmpegX and no sound after the file is converted. Video plays and converts successfully, just no audio. I am able to successfully convert other files (like AVI to AVI XviD). Any suggestions?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Anyway, will definitely be registering ffmpegX. -

Re previous post, heres the output file if it helps. I've deleted hundreds of duplicate frame messages as indicated.

It is a bugfix release. By doing apple-I on the application icon you can see if it is r2 or not. If it is not, download it again from http://homepage.mac.com/major4/ffmpegX.dmg (no need to install again the binaries, just overwrite the application).
-
Thanks for the rapid responses!
Yes, I just checked and its definately r2
What else could be causing this?
Cheers
Don
PS
This bit looks very suspect in the output log:
MOV track #1: 228 chunks, 0 samples
Audio bits: 16 chans: 2 rate: 44100
Audio extra header: len=76 fcc=0x77617665
MOV: Found unknown audio atom Ä>Fourcc: U
Although the trailer plays perfectly before encoding? -
Try to export the audio as WAV with Quicktime Player, and add the WAV file in "Add audio.." in the audio tab, or remux it to your silent AVI with the "Mux" tool (Mux as.. AVI).

I just re-installed the binaries and that fixed the problems with the trailer!
I've now tried to encode a H264 mov file which I made using Quicktime pro. The video is being encoded fine but the resultant .avi is without an audio track. I've tried changing the audio track in FF but no joy. Heres the 1st part of the output file:
