I have converted an avi to a videots folder containing vobs for burning, i have noticed a problem with the audio, the voices are lower than the rest of the audio in some parts of the film and sound effects like guns going off are very loud. Can i edit the vobs so the audio will stay at a constant level or do i have to edit my original source, what good audio apps are out there, is this a complicated procedure?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Normalize the audio.
It is easiest to that before you convert it to dvd.Iif you are using tmpgenc you can use normalize when you convert under settings->audio. You can also normalize the audio with goldwave, open the avi and normalize, save as wav and use in your avi to dvd converting software.
If you want to normalize the vob you must first demux it to a video and audio(rejig, vobrator) and then normalize the audio file with for example goldwave. Add back the video and the new audio in for example tmpgenc dvd author.
