    how can i watch rm/rmvb files, vlc doesnt work, ive installed all the codecs i can find to quicktime with no luck. and are these files reasonable quality? because they seem too small for what they are.

    As Narenfish says, these are realplayer files. They are usually for web streaming so the quality can range from almost acceptable to downright awful.
