  1. I'm hoping this is the right forum for this post (it was this or DVD authoring). I've got a documentary about my organization that I would like to redo the menu for. The menu the person made really sucks balls. I wouldn't even call it a menu. I can rip the documentary into vob files...thats no problem. Its just finding a DVD menu creation program thats I can then use with these files. I dont want to convert the files...just make a decent menu (preferably with motion video) and link them to the vob files if I can.

I have Adobe Encore 1.5 but it doesn't do vob files from what I can tell...maybe I just dont know enough about it. I made some sweet looking menus using Adobe Photoshop CS2...now I just need to put it all together.

    Any recommendations?

    Hi fellow_worker,

All you need is an authoring program that will accept the VOBs and you can then create the menu of your choice from there.

I know that TMPGEnc DVD Author does, and I'm sure that DVDLab (and DVDLab Pro) do too. There will be others - just read the info on this or the app's site to check.

There are some freeware authoring tools (GUI for dvdauthor or DVDAuthorGUI) but I've not used them and don't know whether they accept VOBs, or how good they are.

    Good luck.
