    what piece of software would be the best choice for somebody like me who wants to convert an xvid file to dvd but is new to all of this?

    the name's i keep hearing are dvdsanta, vso, and nerovision.

    i was just hoping somebody here could reccomend which one out of those 3 i should go with?

    I'd try VSO DivxToDVD. It's a pay program now, but has a trial version. It's probably one of the easiest to use. Works well with most Xvid and Divx.
