liteon 5045 Firmware

I live in Aust and wish to buy the liteon 5045, I am coming to the USA in one week.
1. will this unit work in Aust if I buy it in USA
2.Can I load the Aust firmware on a US unit, and how.

Why don't I buy the unit in Aust because liteon are charging $850 for it in Aust.
I have found it in the USA for $285 US

May not be the same model.... Mains voltage in teh US is 120V, NTSC video, Tuner could be different too.

So in short power supply could be wrong, Tuner could be wrong, Video format could be wrong. And Customs may charge a stiff tariff carrying it back in.

If it were me, I would look at the manuals for both versions. Worry about any warranty problems since buying here in the US and trying to warranty elswhere probably will not work. the warranty could be a problem as each country may have a different distrubutor/importer and not be lite-on dirct.

Or I could be way off base and all will be well. Hard to tell.
