  1. I tried to record three consecutive half hour kids shows from a digital cable box to my Pioneer DVR 310. The firest half is always perfect. Half way through the second one the sound started to jerk and then no sound at all. The third one has just no sound. I tried to record through Channel 3, then with RCA cable (3 cables). I tried different density (2 hour, 4 hour, etc.) I tried without cutting into chapters. Everything failed. I looked at it before and after finalizing the disc, the same thing. I tried 3 separate recording and 1 one and a half hour recording. Same results. Anybody help please.

The other thing is that the machine is less than 6 months and I couldn't find a authorized service center in New York City.[/b]

  2. Then I bought a Lite-on 5005. I try to do the exact same thing as with the Pioneer. Guess what, the same thing happens. Anybody knows why?
    Could it be overheating?

  3. It sounds like your digital cable box might be having some problems with the audio part of the digital stream. It appears there is nothing wrong with the DVD recorders, since both are experiencing the same loss of audio.

Sometimes digital A/V tuners (and cable boxes) will freeze, stutter, etc. when the stream they are decoding is interrupted or damaged. I'll bet it is something like that.
