  1. I have an avi which is 23.97 fps,i have subtitles which are in srt format, but at 25fps.I cant find subtitles for 23.97.My question is can i convert the avi to 25fps and then use the srt file at 25 fps ,will it be in sync?

    Thanks in advance

Could also try adjusting the srt to 23.976fps. As to whether it will be in sync, really depends whether the PAL version had a different length intro, etc.

If you do change the framerate of the avi, you will also need to change the duration of the audio to match.

Thanks for your reply.I guess i will have to wait for the right srt file(i put in a few requests on subtitle sites).I had a try with a few subtitle tools, but could not grasp it.

    Thanks

A bit late as reply, but I found this utility that allows to convert online into a different format and change the fps on the fly. If the subtitles are shifted (too soon or too late) you can adjust the time as well.
Still a lot easier than to modify them all by hand yourself

    Only by 3 1/2 years.

Why not start a new thread or just submit this as a new tool in the tools section.

No need to dig up an old thread. Especially one that was already solved.
