I nearly purchased a PCI card to ad more hard drives to my system and noticed in fine printthat it could NOT support MORE than 180GB HD's.
I looked at some other cards and there was no mention of this.
I plan on buying some 250 GB or greater for storage.
Anyone know what brands or models would work with this?
Mucho Domo!

I assume its going to depend on the card itself and the chipset its using more then anything else.
Don't know any specific models though.
Well that's a bummer.
I have a few emails out to companies asking if there are GB limits on their cards but no responses yet. I certainly didn't want to do buy and return trial method.
I use a MAXTOR ATA 133 PCI CONTROLLER CARD that is a rebadged PROMISE CONTROLLER CARD. I've bought a few off of EBAY that work great. I have a 250 gb hard drive attached to it with no problems. You could a PROMISE TECHNOLOGY CONTROLLER CARD from NEWEGG.COM.Originally Posted by slnorth
