My Conversion stutters slightly...

Hey guys I've used TmpgEnc to convert quite a few movies lately and once I've authored and burned the movie to disc I watch it back and the movie stutters slighlty, not much but enough so that u can just about see it. I think I've read somewhere that this may be down to a codec problem and was wondering if this was true. I currently have the klite codec pack 227 installed which includes

* DivX Pro [version 5.1.1] [Decoding]
* XviD [version 1.01] [2004-06-05] [Decoding]
* 3ivX [version D4 4.5.1] [Decoding]
* Windows Media 7 [version 7.1.0.3055]
* Windows Media 8 [version 8.0.0.371]
* Windows Media 9 VCM [version 9.0.1.369]

* Fraunhofer MP3 DirectShow decoder [version 1.9.0.311]
* WMA DirectShow decoder [version 8.0.0.4487]
* AC3 DirectShow decoder [version 0.70b mod]
* Ogg Vorbis DirectShow decoder (CoreVorbis) [version 1.0b5]
* AAC DirectShow decoder (CoreAAC) [version 1.0b9]

* DirectVobSub (vsfilter) [version 2.33]
* Matrix Mixer [version 0.30b]

I've also read that I may be better downloading each codec on it's own, and not using a pack, and was wondering if this was true which ones I would need and are the best? If someone could help me out I would really appreciate it, thanks alot guys biged670

What is the format and framerate of your original material? What specs are you encoding it to ?

I suspect your source and target frame rates are different?
It's quite true that codec packs are bad, as they mostly blindly installs all its payload, without respect for what your system already has installed, resulting in conflicts of all kinds. Before I knew better, I installed a codec pack - and coludn't play back one single AVI as a result. Almost had me go "Format C:"
If you want to read a PDF document, you install the Acrobat Reader, you don't go find some "MegaMix Document Reader Pack" do you?
By installing the codec you need when you need it, quite soon your system will be equipped with what you do need and nothing else. GSpot is good at telling you what codec is needed for playing back a particular file.

Yes, codec packs are a big pain and will definately mess up your system. Install codecs only on "need" basis. Gsopt is a good tool to tell you what you "need" too install.

Also you have to give details of the source material you are using like fps, aspect ratio ... What settings are you using in TMPGenc to convert the source files.

It's all different movies with all different specs.

You can't just take "all different movies with all different specs" and treat them with the same process - every source file has to be examined and treated according to its specs. Life isn't that simple, I'm 'fraid...

Try reversing the field order. Though this does not work with all different movies with all different specs, it does help with some movies with some specs.

You might consider putting at least SOME useful information in your post in order to help effect a solution.

Media? Number of brands tried? Standalone player? Number of different players tried? Bitrate used? Max? Min? Avg? CBR? VBR? Framerate? Pulldown? Audio type? Planet you were on at the time of conversion? Have you read ANYTHING AT ALL about similar problems, and the numerous methods and techniques used to solve them? Have you tried encoding a movie which is KNOWN to be complete and correct, which, BTW, is simply NOT POSSIBLE TO KNOW if only source is downloads?
