  1. I have a Lite on 5005 DVD recorder. My DVR 6412 (provided by Comcast, made by Motorola) has a firewire output. Could i connect it to the Lite On and record that way?

    No, sorry.

    The IEEE-1394 on the 6412 is encrypted except for local DTV channels. In that case the signal is the MPeg2 TS stream from the ATSC broadcast and has nothing in common to a camcorder DV stream.
