    Hi,

I have a movie on dvd, and the normal file length is +/- 2h30min.
It's an ntsc dvd and I want to add new subtitles too it because my language isn't on the dvd.
I allready downloaded subtitles but because they are not sync with the dvd and because the length is different (you know the problem shorther avi files then the original dvd, because the sub is an avi file sub.)
So, i demux the dvd with dvd decrypter and now I want to synchronisize the subs with Subsync so I open the .M2V file for the video and then the .srt sub!
But, the video file now only is 1.15min???
So I checked it in DVDLab Pro and there the file lentgt is something from 3 hours??
I can't sync the subs on this way and I also can't add the same chapters with dvd lab pro because the file length is wrong.
I allready tried much like re-encode it with dvd shrink but nothing helped.
What can I do??? Please help me!!!!!

    Thnx,
    Jelle

moving you to our new subtitle forum.

if you play the m2v with windows media player is it the correct length?
try some other subtitle tool like subtitle workshop to sync with.

in windows media player the file also is 1h15mins!
The audio file is the correct length?
I also tried subtitle workshop allready!
And when I want to change the sub (also with subsync) the position of the sub is allways different
If I change it to a specific time, a little later it's another place.

    Ok,

I found a way to synch the subtitle => With the ac3 audio file, so the subtitle is synched correctly allready.
Now I'm going to try to mux the dvd togehter again with dvd lab pro! Without chapters because still have that problem!
If that works (let's hope) I can add new chapters manual afterwards!!
I'll keep you up to date.

    Same problem as me???
Well, open subsync and choose the ac3 media file as audio.
Then choose your subtitle file and sync the same way like you do with videofiles.

If you have the same problem as me, with a none correct video length, and you find some good results, please give it then too.

    I hope this helps you??

    It works!
My subtitle isn't shown well yet but now I'm going to try it with putting the subitle on widescreen, because it's falling of the screen.
    I also added own chapters

hi jelleke, can u tell me the entire procedure of

synchronizing the old subtitles - forming a new .srt file - multiplexing it with the audio and video file(s) - obtaining the new .vob file.
