    There is no DVP642 firmware available in philips website. Are they going to stop firmware updating for ever?

    If you do a web search, there are non-official sites to get DVP-642 firmware at. Some Brazilian guy maintains a firmware site because he fixed some problems with the Philips firmware and how it displayed Portuguese subtitles. I don't know how far back the posts in this forum go, but he has posted about it since less than 1 year ago.
