Do Sony PlayStation 2 play VCD's?

I would say no. But I don't have any personal experience with it. If you have a pc dvd burner you could convert your vcd to dvd.

Yes the xbox does if you modify it
No the ps2 wont (but it will play divx)

Nope, PS2 does not play VCDs.

ps2 is awkward
doesnt seem to like dvd-rs

It just depends on the model of the laser, age, and power settings.
I have a version 9 that plays all sorts of DVD+/-RWs

Also depends on the brand of disks

I have one of the first models of PS2 and it plays everything regarding dvdrs, but on second thought, now I remember that it is a lttle picky abouth thebrand of the discs.
