non display of video of avi files

I am not getting the video display (from today ,it was working fine all these days) howver the audio is played when I play AVI files.However the Dat files are played by window player. I use sis 300/305 card.os is win xp pro.please advise and guide me.I have once again reinstalled the sis drivers for win xp pro but the no result. still there is no video display with any player I use.

Sounds like an overlay problem? Seen some with portables and 2nd monitor, where the video overlay was on the internal screen (folded down) and the player (showing nothing) on the external screen.
