  1. I know this doesn't relate to the question but I have also run into this problem and in my opinion it is a lot easier to find other subs. I tried baldrick's suggested siites and they worked good you can also search multiple specific sites on google with the format site:example.com OR lies.com after the search term. I use this when searching multiple sites for subs all the time. Here is what I use: site:http://www.opensubtitles.org/en OR http://subscene.com/ OR http://www.podnapisi.net/ OR http://www.subtitlesource.org/ OR http://www.divxstation.com OR http://www.divxsubtitles.net OR http://www.subbiee.com

Yep; AviDemux2 (for Mac) did the job exactly as advertised. Thanks.

I did maybe 1/2 dozen DVD subtitle conversions to .srt as noted in the guide at the beginning of this thread and the output was really clean!! I didn't notice any typos to fix at all.

The other "trick" I found was if I happened to have idx/sub subs for an .avi file or whatever, if I used SubToSup, then loaded the .sup file into DVDSubEdit and did the OCR, the .srt export worked just as well.

At least for English subs it seems to work flawlessly. No more typing into OCR pattern recognition gizmos!!

    Hi Miles,

I was searching and I saw your post for Converting IDX/SUB to SRT ... well, I tried it as follow ...

    1) Use SubToSup ... and convert the IDX to SUP
    2) Load up the SUP in DVDSubEdit ... but then it asks me for IFO ... well since my Subtitle is from an AVI file I skip this ...
I run the OCR ... and then Push ".srt" Button and save the Output as SRT.

Now, here is my problem ... the SRT subtitle does NOT SYNC with the Video!!!

Q1: Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? Or how can I get it Right?

    Thanks,

    G!

  5. Do the VobSubs (IDX/SUB) synch with the video? If so, maybe try converting the VobSubs to SUP using SubtitleCreator.
