  1. I used dvd-mpegand tmpgenc to take a homemade dvd, and strip into two streams, audio and video. Now i want to take this video and combine with new audio, and put back out to DVD. When i try and bring this video into premiere or encore (it's an m2v file) it says it's not in the right format (must be 720x480 etc).

What can I use to recombine these streams? I know Tmpgenc will recombine, but I'd like to play the video and new audio together to make sure it's ok before going to DVD. I need to fiddle around a bit with the length of the audio, which is why I wanted to bring it into premiere or encore. Any ideas?

    Hi ktpmm,

What version of Premiere are you using? I think that Premiere 6.5 and later will accept MPEG - so try changing the video.m2v file to video.mpg.

Or, you could load the video.m2v (or video.mpg) into VirtualDubMod and resave as DV AVI - that'll definitely load into Premiere.

Either way, once you've got the footage into Premiere you can then sort out your audio, export the audio only to WAV from Premiere, compress to AC3 or MP2 or leave as WAV and then recombine the audio with the original video.m2v in your chosen authoring tool.

    Good luck.
