Hello

Just started to use vlc media player & its spot on, i was just wonderin if any one knows how to change a settin on it? when i first installed it asked me which files i wanted to associate with it & i only picked avi files, so when i click on a avi file vlc loads up but if i pick an mpg or mp3 windows media player will load up.
Does any one know how i can change it so when i play any file vlc will just play it???

Windows allows the user to associate various types of files with specific software from within Windows.

It's a little different on each Windows version (but very similar). Go to your Windows Help and search on FILE ASSOCIATION.

That might solve your problem.

The way I do it is with right click, "open with"

At the bottom select "choose program"

Select VLC and check "always use selected program ..."

After the next reboot, VLC will be the default for that file type.
