    Hi
    I am new to DVD World, need some help for .....
    I have some of XVID files with 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3 Audio.
    How do i convet it in DVD with AC3 5.1 channel Aduio.

    MP3 audio is just regular 2 channel stereo audio. It can even be mono but not multi-channel 5.1 audio.

    So you should convert it to a 2.0 AC-3 Dolby Digital audio file.

    The best way to extract the MP3 from the video file (this can be tricky) is to use GOLDWAVE.

    Load the AVI file into GOLDWAVE then save to a 16-bit 48k Stereo PCM WAV audio file.

    You can then convert that WAV audio file to AC-3 using a variety of methods. Using BeSweet or ffmpeg are two popular freeware methods for instance.

    You can make 5.1 but it wont be that good,

    Best is to convert to stereo as fulcilives says. ffmpeggui can convert the divx avi directly to ac3.
