    can playstation 2 play dvd+r discs without any kind of modification?

    movies or games ??
    Mine plays both "-" & "+" but alot of people seem to prefer dvd-r's.......
    And i have one of the older PS2's that are said to only like "-", go fugures, good dvd's are also a good idea...

    yeah stick to the -r...they love good media. worked great with maxell's and ty's. prodisc work great too. and they hate cheap media. thats my experience anyways. picky just like any other sony product

    It also depends on your ps2 version.

    -r is great.

    +r is okay for films.
