Playing .wmv files in my pioneer dvd

Hi,

I downloaded video from my sony handycam (in .wmv format) using windows media player. and later i burned the cd(CD-R / CD-RW) and then when i try to run that cd in my dvd(pioneer 266), it gives the message -> can't play disc.

what could be the posssible problem ?

AFAIK no DVD player supports WMV,you have to convert it to VCD,SVCD or DVD.

any utility i can use to convert .wmv to vcd/dvd ?

TMPGEnc for VCD
TMPGEnc DVD Author for DVD
I would recapture the video from your camcorder and save as DV-AVI or MPEG-2 then convert.
