Componet Video Problem?

Here's a weird one. I am on my 2nd Sony 55" LCD TV and the problem is that while I'm watching a DVD thru Componet Video (480p) the Wide mode will switch to FULL MODE from WIDE ZOOM. The 1st TV it did it 3 to 4 times a dvd. The one I have now it does it about every 10 hours of usage and sometimes the TV display will pop up. This hasn't happened on s video thru satellite or if I watch a DVD thru Video 1. I have a Pioneer player and Sony said it may be a incompatible issue. I'm thinking of getting a player with HDMI and trying to see if that solves the problem. Anyone out their have any thoughts at what this problem can be? No tech has ever heard of this and I can't find any answers on the Net.

Strange. When i'm watching a DVD in 480p it locks the resolution in with whatever the DVD is natively. Black bars sometimes, thin black bars or no black bars. I have options on my TV to set the mode to wide/auto/4:3/ etc, but these options are locked out when I am on AV4 which is the 480p component connection. What mode is the TV in ahead of time before viewing the movie? Does that make a difference on whether it happens or not or is it every 10 hours or so just randomly?
