When talking the bottom of the market, Goodmans is about as low as you can go. They don't make anything themselves, just have their name put on cheapo (usually) Chinese made units. They work, but don't expect to be able to get them repaired when they go wrong. However, you get what you pay for, so if it only lasts a couple of years it won't owe you anything so you can throw it away and get another one.

Goodmans - wouldn't touch them with a shitty stick!

Granted, they are cheap - but cheap for a good reason!

    "goodmans" is insufficient.

    (1 Wife + 2x kids, + 1 house + 2x cars + 1 horse + 3x cats) - 1 job =

Me not a 'millioner' either, but I'd still keep well away from Goodmans!

Cheap UK/PAL region LCD/Plasma TV's use NTSC 852 X 480 video screens....so they decrease your PAL signal (from either broadcast or DVD) yet (obviously) give a bigger picture (not exactly a good start)...go into a local Currys/Dixons/Comet etc and LOOK at the picture quality of some of these sets.......absolutely awful....a good CRT based TV will walk all over them.

Check out this guide in what to look for when buying a big screen TV in the UK .
