i have a dvp642/37 which came with 0531 firmware. bought it recently. nothing problematic enough to force me to return it. but i think i might've found another problem. not sure if it was mentioned though.

anamorphic DVDs work fine with the WS option enabled on the DVD Player (instead of LB4:3 or PS4:3, i chose 16:9 when connecting to my widescreen tv). however, when i put in a 2:35AR or 16:9AR movie (or something close to these ARs) it'll put black bars to fill a 4:3 resolution. so on my widescreen, it won't be displayed correctly. only choice i have is to use my TVs option to stretch it up/down, which will, of course, distort it, degrading the quality (even more).

anyone have this problem? any fixes?
