I've had a Toshiba SD-420E for a few years now, but during the last few weeks it has statred skipping on ALL discs after about 30 minutes.
I have to turn it off and wait an hour to be to turn it back on and play some more... but thats a pain.
It does this on DVDrs, bought DVDs, SVCDs... everything.
It does not seem to be overheating and hasn't got a fan inside it anyway, so that rules out a fan packing in.
I have had the top off and cleaned the laser but it hasn;t helped.
Anyone heard of these symptons before or is it just a case of old age?
Cheers for any replies!

Thread: Is My Player Packing In...?

Sounds like old age to me.
Buy a new one.
Its proberly cheaper than fixing it.
It may be overheating:
Unplug, open the top cover and blast everything with a can of compressed air($5USD).
Drill 1/4" holes in the cover or move the player away from any other components.
I did this to my Mintek when it was acting up and it's been fine since.
I agree with rkm69,if this doesn't work buy a new one.Having problems ripping a DVD? Read my guide
