Hey everybody,
I have searched the forums, and it seems no one else has this problem on store-bought dvds (I saw a topic on burned discs...).
The region hack works great, except my region 2 dvd's freeze at certain points. 1 movie always freezes at 7:51. If I skip that point, it will freeze again about 5 minutes later.
These play fine in my polaroid portable, but always freeze at the same spot in the 642. I also had no problem in my Philips 640.
Also, the picture quality on the PAL to NTSC is less than great on the region 2 widescreen (not sure, maybe my old television?!?!) Choppy on rounded edges and also on the top portion of the picture.
This is my second 642 player (I returned the first one yesterday in hopes it had something wrong.)
Any help would be great. I really need a player for both region 1 and 2. We just got back from living in Begium for 3 years, so I have a good sized library of region 2 dvds.
Thanks!
