Need help finding small-form DVD player

My ultra-compact Koss DVP2161 DVD player finally burned out on me. Great little gadget, but it had terrible overheating problems. Anyway, I'm looking to replace it, and I'm hoping for recommendations.

Important:
Physically compact in size (it's going on top of a 13" TV, secured with velcro. I'm using four six-sided game dice as risers for airflow)
Low cost (under $100, the cheaper the better)
High availability (want to be able to buy it at a chain store if at all possible)
High media-type compatibility (CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+/-R/RW...)
High data-type compatibility (DVD, VCD, SVCD, ...)
Well-designed (I'd like to avoid the heating problems I saw with the Koss)

Not Important:
Enhanced audio features (planning on using TV's speakers only)
Component output, S-Video (the TV only accepts RCA jacks)

Except for the heating problems, the Koss was perfect for the job. Can anyone offer suggestions? Many thanks.

Check out the Cyberhome CH-300. It's available at most Best Buy stores for under $50.
