I was wondering if storing DVDs (pressed & burnt) in an attic or basement without temperature controls would cause damage to the discs. At what temperatures would damage occur? What about humidity? Same for CDs?
Sorry if it's already posted elsewhere.

Same for CDs : 23 to 131°F , 10 - 90% RH

Yes. 23 (F) is too cold and 131 (F) is too hot. Thse may be some sort of "max" numbers, but I would not do it if you actually care about what's on the media. Room temperature.

If you HAVE to store them in either of those environments (which I wouldn't), wrap them in a blanket and put them in a STYROFOAM chest. Tape the chest lid closed to help reduce humidity problems. DO NOT use any other type of ice chest as they will not protect the discs.
My CD's and DVD's are stored in a place which has a fairly stable temperature
However, in my car I have +- 10 CD's with MP3 music ; being all the time in the car, these are subjected to all kinds of temperatures
Most of them are now 2-4 years old and still perform well
I only had some problems with the earlier Sony CD's: peeling of the reflective layer
i leave them in my car in the player even at minus 30 degrees and never had a problem .. the other day i was playing some cds in there and it was about -10 in the car (i just started it - not warmed up yet)
heat is more damaging ... but as for long term -- i have no idea , maybe i am killing them - but those cds in the car are some of them over 10 years old and still play fine .. i just keep moving them from car to car (or truck) ..
hot summer temps though can warp them for sure if not stored flat - or destroy them completly .. it can go to very high temps in a car in summer .."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
