  1. After Rebuilder is finished, what program do you use to Burn the CD. I was thinking of using Shrink to burn the CD but I'm not sure what the "Encoding" process would do to the picture quality (even if I choose No Compression). Should I just use Nero?

I use CopyToDVD if I have a Video_TS folder, and DVD Decrypter if I have an ISO.

    Following DVD-RB, CopyToDVD.

    DVD Decrypter for ISO's
Maybe Prassi or RecordNow for ISO's, sometimes.

Nero 5.5.10.56 for making DVD-Video burns (not authoring! just burning!)

  7. K, another problem. I just burned a disc with Nero following Rebuilder. About midway through the movie, it freezes and the only way to get it going again is to hit the fast forward button. Here's my entire process
    1) Rip the DVD with Decrypter; 2) Re-Author the movie in DVD Shrink to include ONLY the movie; 3) Encode it in Rebuilder; 4) Burn in Nero

Is it a layer break problem?

Are you burning to dual layer ? If not (I am assuming no, or why use DVD-RB) then it is not a layer break issue.

Your process is exactly the same as mine, up to the burn, where I use CopyToDVD instead.

Most likely it is poor media or incorrect media format. What brand are you using ?

You can use shrink with no compression to burn with DVD Decrypter. If you are using Nero then there is no need to use shrink to launch it.

  9. I'm using Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R discs that haven't given me any problems at all. Playback looked excellent and the only glitch was that pause in the middle. When using DVD Shrink I had the "Remove Layer Change" preference checked. Any more ideas?

I just tried re-burning the DVD in Shrink instead of using Nero but I still got the same pause. Would burning through Decrpytor get rid of the pause

I also tried opening the files in IFOEdit but the layer break doesn't show up.

Because there isn't a layer break - you removed it. I have never had this problem occur.

Shrink can't burn on it's own. It uses either Nero or DVD Decrypter to burn. Try using Decrypter and see what happens, however I suspect there is something screwy with the disk, and you would be better off starting again.
