Odd SVCD playback problem

I have a weird (ish) problem that has arisen. 2 or 3 movies that I downloaded as .rar files, extracted to bin/cue and then burnt to SVCDs, will play in one of my standalones (Acoustic Solutions 521) but not in my Compacks 5000, my Pacific 1002 or my Sumvision N820 divx player.
Can anybody suggest a reason for this other than media incompatibility (I'm burning on Infiniti 48x white top)?
When the SVCD disk is inserted, in each case the OSD says 'SVCD', 'PBC off', and 'Loading', but then the stop button appears on screen and that's the end of it!
In the 521 the disks just play straight off!

The mpgs were authored by a someone who doesnt know much,use vcdeasy to extract the mpg and reauthor it.

I agree with Johns0. Without having access to your SVCDs, it's impossible to know what went wrong. Reauthor them again with VCDeasy and burn them.
