Curious about something. TMPGenc Plus, while not acknowledging AC-3 audio, will open up some VOBs allowing M2V capture but will not open up other VOBs ... whereas VirtualDub-MPEG2 will open up all VOBs. Is there a reason for this?
P.S. The VOBs in question were part of a backup I'm doing and came through DVDdecrypter.

Thread: Different kinds of VOBs?

Not that I know of. I've always just used DVD2AVI to create a frameserver file if I'm dealing with DVD as source into TMPGEnc Plus.
If in doubt, Google it.
Don't know all the details, but there is extra information on some VOBs as opposed to MPEGs that VDub can open them all, but sometimes confuses TMPGEnc. Just open them all in VDub, and frameserve them to TMPGEnc.
Hello.
Multi-angle/Multi-story/Parental Interleave blocks most likely.
