    Is there a huge difference in mpeg2 (for DVD) quality between these two?

    Yes. One has MASTERING mode, one does not.
    EXPRESS is just a limited version of 2.0.
    Still excellent quality.

    I have the Xpress encoder and i'm really happy with it, i also own Mainconcept and TMPGEnc 2.5 and 3.0, Xpress is my favourite, if you can go for it.
