Desay DS-501 hack code

I bought a Desay DS-501 from Circuit City on the day after thanksgiving as it was the cheapest available. However I have some region 2 DVD's which wouyld not play on it.

Please anyone, can help me to convert this DVD player to region free?

But it looks like a dead-end, so better look at return.

why not try to figure it out? maybe it will work. You could be the first. I take it, this is how they are done, trial and error.

Region code hack posted by bugmenot, December 05 2004:
1) open dvd tray
2) press "setup" on remote
3) press left arrow once to highlight "preference"
4) press 1,3,8,9 on remote
5) use up and down arrow to choose desired region
