  1. Hello!

I've tried to upgrade firmware on my LVD-2002 player today. At the middle of the process, my son removed player power cord from the outlet. As result, player is dead right now - when I turn power on, it just displays "HELLO" message on the player screen and I'm unable even open tray there.

Do you know, is there any way to fix that and reprogram firmware?

    Thank you very much!

I think your best bet is to send it back to LiteOn for repair if it's still in warranty. I wouldn't mention about what happened, I'd just say "it stopped working for some reason".

If it's out of warranty, it might not be worth bothering with. The cost of repair might be more than it's worth. Put it on Ebay noting that it's not working correctly and someone may buy it because they like a challenge.

You might check the old posts regarding firmware upgrades on the LiteOn LVD-2001. There were some posts regarding failed firmware upgrade attempts, and someone posted a procedure to use to get it to accept a download again. This would have been about a year ago when the beta version of 3.02 was released. If I can spot it I'll re-post it here.

    Hi again,
I found the old thread. They were getting only a "POWER ON" message, but I believe that may just be a difference between the two models. Scrotus gave a procedure from a French forum which a couple people said didn't work for them. Further down another post by Somebodeez gave an alternate procedure recommended by LiteOn which he says didn't work for him. Well it can't hurt to try anyway, may as well have a look:
