  1. Hi,

I have a question for all of you creating custom DVD covers. Where do you find artwork for creating your covers ?

I found and downloaded logos but I am not having any luck with anything else. Tried to register for the russian site (the name escapes me right now, eposters.ru maybe) but never got any reply from admin.

Can you point me in the right direction please and let me know where you obtain materials for your customs

  3. Yes, I would like to create covers myself; however, I don't know where to find hi-res pictures to do so.

If these are back ups, you can get a scanner pretty cheap these days, scan the original artwork and print. If you are looking for generic photos, there's usually royalty free photo sites on the web.

  5. I use google quite often to do a search on images. Also find it helpful to check out the websites of the developers / distributors for the relevant title.

  6. These are the sites i use: http://daprogger.mine.nu/index.php
    http://www.cdcovers.cc/dvd_m.php
dvdempire.com also has covers with watermarks though (some not so bad) Or you could also use this dvd cover search engine http://www.mega-search.net/ I was also told that this site has good dvd labels for printable discs http://www.customcdlabels.com/ Well i hope this helps you out & don't forget you can always GooGle for imgages

Is it just me, or is the poster asking where you actually get the images from the film from ?

    ie.

Where did this image of Derek Zoolander originate from ?

I would try the promo sites for the films you wish to make covers for. Almost every movie these days has a www.moviename.com address. Either that or take still frames from the movies themselves.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  8. Yes, still images would be nice too.
However, when I tried they never came out good enough to use for a dvd cover. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but the results were usually ok only for the back - pictures were too tiny.

    Thanks everyone for your advice.

  9. Anoter trick I have used in the past to get artwork mainly for dvd's is to watch the beginning of the movie with something like powerdvd or WinDvD and take snapshots of screen images.

Oh yah.... I highly recommend www.customcdlabels.com

  10. Besides screencaps and scans, my primary sources for my custom covers come from [url=Laserdisken.dk[/url], which is in German, and MovieWeb, which has some pretty decent quality posters and other images.
