  1. I wondered if someone could point me in the direction of a guide for this? I have done a search but cannot find one. In particular, I am after the correct quality setting to burn to DVD - normally I can only get upto 2 hours of DVD quality video on a DVD, but using my 8mm tapes I am sure I could get much more without losing any further quality.

    Hello,

    You could use a smaller bitrater of 2500-3000. You can also use halfd1 resolution of 352x480 (ntsc). Use a video bitrate calculator found in the tools section to determine the rate needed for the length of time you want on the dvd.

    Of course you could also buy a dual layer burner and fit 8.5gb on it! (though they are far from perfect right now - and pricey blanks!)
