VCD does not play video only audio on my

Hello,
I am trying to burn a vcd and play on my dvd player.My dvd player
plays vcd since i played them b4.
Now i used a small mpg file to test.I burned using Nero and also tried vcdeasy and play it in the dvd.On the tv i can hear the audio perfectly but the screen is blank.
I tried using the burner in winavi and still the same thing.
I have all the codecs needed.
I have tempgenc and that does help either.
I have no clue what to do.
I burned the file onto a cd-rw.
any help is great.

Hi!
You say that you burned the file on a CD-RW. Some standalone DVD-players have trouble reading CD-RW, so you can try burning the file on a CD-R if you haven't tried that yet.
