I captured video and clips to my hard drive and it's in AVI form.
Can I convert a still clip to a JPEG picture?
If so, how do you do it?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

VirtualDub can take a snapshot of individual frames.
/Mats -
What format are the snapshots in?

The frame is copied to the clip board, so you just paste it to your graphics editor of choice, and save it in whatever format you wish.

Erm,
Press pause, PrtScr (copy screen to clipboard), & paste into photoshop. Et viola!

I was just about to start a thread about this topic. It's a good thing I checked first.
Can anyone tell me if capturing images can be done automatically?
By telling the software to take an image of every frame. -
How big HDD do you have? Try a google search for "avi2jpg".
Here's one example: http://www.convertzone.com/net/cz-OSS%20Video%20Decompiler-1-1.htm

I have a BIG hard drive I'm not talking about an entire movie, I'm talking about short scenes. Like if Jennifer Aniston is getting undressed and I want to capture every frame to JPG's.
With Tmpgenc can you tell it to do it in auto at every frame? or do you have to use batch encode and go back to every frame? -

That's what I like! - a bit of honesty now & again!

Ok, Did turned off overlay, now what? When I freeze a clip I don't see any option to create a jpg. How is it done?
