  2. Thanks to Gil T Pleasure(@dvdplus.org)

Here's how you can get the AR-230 for $135.

Use coupon code SAVE10TVAC, which takes 10% off the purchase price, lowering it down to $135. Then apply free shipping code NOSHIPA to get free shipping.

These are excellent DVD players too, almost worth it just to get another player!

Quick question...A couple of the reviews I have read mention that the unit doesn't playback over the coax, only the composite or component leads. Any truth to that?
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

Almost no DVD recorder has a modulated coax out. They all have signal passthrough.

The only standalone that I have is a VCR/DVD combo which has coax out that carries TV/VCR and DVD output. Since the tv that I am insterested in hooking the Gateway up to doesn't have inputs I guess that I would need to use an RF modulator...My next question would be does the composite out carry TV/DVD output? I will hazarad a guess that it does otherwise anyone using it would have to keep switching their TV inputs while using the recorder.

I don't follow what you're saying, but the output from composite or s-video is fine, carries the recorder signal out, and pass through of any signal into it.

What I am trying to say is that the TV that I was intending to hook this up to is an older 20inch with no line inputs of any kind, just a 75 ohm coaxial input. I assume that I would need to hook an RF modulator up to the Composite in order to view the output of the Gateway. Since I have never used an RF modulator my next question is are there RCA inputs on a modulator for audio?
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

    I get it now...

... Yes. It modulates audio/video into a coax signal.
