I'm in the market for an external lcd monitor for my 12" PowerBook. I am wondering if forum members have any experience of the difference in image quality between DVI and VGA inputs? Of course, the PB supports both, but I have heard mixed messages about whether DVI is worth the extra expense for a more up-market screen.

    Any advice? Thanks.

I happen to think that DVI is worth it, but I also think a whole bunch of other crazy stuff.
If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.

Have an extra TV? get the mini dvi to video adaptor, and DAMN, it works. Plus you get the features of playing games, watching movies, and looking at pron on a large screen!

    Q

PS: reccomendation, dont look at pron, its bad for your liver.

Yep, I have one of those, and sometimes I've run MPEG-4 Quicktime movies on the tv, but the image quality isn't good enough for text. Good for video and ... er... pictures, though.

Would Hannibal be immune to that problem?

So I got a Sharp LL-172GB, and yes, DVI is definitely superior to VGA. Videos look great.
