  1. We have a DV-Storm2 based system, WinXP SP1 with Premiere Pro 1.0. 1gb ram, RAID array, P4 3ghz Dell. We commonly will play back files via the component breakout and record them on tape.

The problem is that after about ~30-40 minutes the video is slightly starting to be noticeably out of sync with audio (audio is ahead of video). By the end of a two hour shoot, its way off base - probably a second or more.

The captured video/audio is synced fine. I can stop and start at any point in time and everything is fine. This only occurs during a continuous playback.

We recently tried this with a single AVI file, no edits or effects, freshly imported into Premiere. Problem still happened...

    Any help is appreciated.

  2. You are probably capping from video tape. Video tape is not a great source to cap from, as sync issues are common due to dropped video frames. Buying a TBC (time base corrector) can GREATLY help. Do a search on TBC in the forums and you we get lots of info. A decent model starts about $150. and up.

  3. hmmm...not sure I understand. Again, the captured video is FINE. If I play back from any point on the timeline in Premiere, all is OK. Its only when I hit play and leave it that it starts to lose lip sync after about 30 minutes IN PREMIERE.

Any ideas what this could be? Hasn't anyone run into this before? We absolutely have to be able to play back a video within Premiere straight out to tape.

  4. As stated, you have dropped video frames. The captured video is NOT fine. Padding can make it seem like it's fine, but it's not. 30 minutes is usually about where sync problems show up.
