    Hi,

Firstly I live in Australia ( PAL land ) and I'm trying to capture a NTSC VHS tape to my computer.

This is NOT a conversion question, just how to capture, or infact can my setup actually perform this task?

I went and bought a NTSC VCR. I bought a stepdown power transformer
to make it work on our 240v power system.

I am trying to capture using Canopus's lets edit plus package with the supplied capture card.

I have the software settings on NTSC, but all I get is B&W video with massive amounts of vertical roll.

I have also tried to capture using Vegas, but similar non results

For the record, I capture about 40 hours per month without any problems
but it's all PAL VHS or camcorder stuff.

Any ideas as to why I can't get a clear colour capture?

    Cheers
    Scott

  2. Have you configured your card for NTSC? I live in NTSC land and the B&W roll is tha affect I would get if I switched the card over to PAL.

    Hi

Are you saying that there's a switch or something (physically on the card itself inside the PC)

  4. No switch, You'll find it somewhere in the configuration for the card or your capture app. Probably right next to where you select the source. I know you said you set the software settings but your missing something somewhere.

I just looked at the specs for your card and it supports NTSC so it will do it.
