As you know Gateway AR-230 is a LiteOn 5001 clone. They just release their 1163 firmware yesterday. I tried to upgrade an AR-230 firmware for my friend. The machine is on 1139. It will take LiteOn 1163 firmware (I did not do it, since he likes to keep the Gateway logo.) , but not the Gateway version. It just spit out the disc. Anybody got any luck?

Wants to keep te GATEWAY logo? Are you kidding me? I'm amazed at the superficial things people insist on. If it takes LiteOn 1163, why not just do that? I don't get it.
