  1. I am looking for a new dvd player to replace my logix one which says it will play everything but it doesn't.
I am looking for a player that is silver, small in size, will play everything, even if I have to multi-region hack & will offer great picture quality & sound.
A friend of mine just bought a "Ronin" player from Whsmith which he recommends & it's only £30 but they have sold out near to me. This is the kind of size I want etc.
Can anyone recommend this player for me to buy or recommend anything similar?

Yes, that's the symbol for the British pound. There monetary unit (and as far as I know still has more value than the US dollar, unfortunately).

  5. I have a Norcent DP300 that has played everything I put in it. Bought mine about 1 1/2 yrs ago I geuss. Sometime about or before the date it shows I joined here.

It is silver, I think you can region hack most of the Norcents (or could) and it is not very big, but is bigger than my Silver APEX DVD player.

The Norcent DP300 does play Video cds, all the DVD -R I have made, -RW I made one or two of those, and MP3 cds. As I recall it even plays plain mpg video files also without even being authored to DVD but only up to about 2gigs I think. Only did that once or twice and about half the movie played as mpeg then it stoped. Size limit I am geusing.

Also since I have had this one so long and it has been used alot I can say it works well and is dependable with a long life. Not something that will break in 3 months.

Rather you can find one or not I don't know, but worth looking for. My cost then was maybe $50 US maybe a little more or less, don't rememeber.

The Apex I have seems good, but have not done much with it myself so can't say much about it really. It is silver and the smallest I ever saw so far and cost me about $28 US (I think it was a sale price) Similar one I saw recently was about $38.
Only thing I know for sure about my Apex is it plays DVD -R well as that's all I have done with it.

I don't know what £30 would be in US dollars though.
