Overburn Xvid onto 702.x CD?

I am using Panther 10.3.4 with a Pioneer DVR Drive

How do I configure MMB or Firestarter to allow overburning of a 710 MB Xvid onto a 702.x MB CD

Do I burn it as a Data file? - do I have to make it into another format before burning?

What is the maximium data that can be placed on a CD of this capacity

This should work: create a non-write-protected disk image in disk utility, mount it, copy the xvid into it, and unmount. You now have a dmg that is something over 710MB. Then go to MacOSXHints and do a search for 'converting dmg to iso', there was a hint there a while back for doing that. You should be able to burn the iso in Firestarter (check 'overburn if needed').

Never felt the need to try it, but I seriously doubt it could cause problems ... (how could it possibly do any damage?)

I use FireStarter FX to overburn. Go to "Burn Data" at the top of Firestarter's window. Put your file into a folder. Drag the folder into the "Drop Zone" Firestarter's window. Click "Burn" in the lower right corner of the Firestarter window. I've experimented with Firestarter's overburning capabilities, and I've found that I can overburn up to 730MB. Good luck.
