ffmpeg progress doesn't show & ffmpeg 0.0.9.n freezes ..

after upgrading to ffmpeg 0.0.9.n, I want to convert a video_ts file to divX ... after setting everything up, I clicked "encode", then the progress wheel started turning, but the progress bar didn't show up ... the app seem to be frozen, but my activity monitor shows ffmpeg and mencoder working ... has anyone any idea what I can do about it?

Force quit and try again. If the behavior persists, consider trashing and reinstalling the ffmpegX application (it is not needed to reinstall the binaries).

I already reinstalled ffmpegX and the problem is still there.. Does anybody have an idea on how to fix this?

EDIT: When I press preview, mplayer starts, but quits almost instantly..
