I am having difficult viewing VCDs on my DVD player (Sony DVP-S9000ES). By this I mean ones that I burned myself. Since other VCDs have worked perfectly, I believe this is an issue concerning the brand of CD-R being used. If this is in a fact a possible factor, which brand of blank CD works best? Also, are VCDs viewable using CD-RWs?

yes, often times CD-RW works where CD-R does not.
I think it has to do with the brand of the CD-R. I'm buying some Sony's today and testing them.
